Lee Harper obtained her knowledge of the Fruit Industry at a big fruit packhouse in  Elgin. She became a pioneer and leading entrepreneur in the South African Fresh Fruit Industry when she commenced trading in 1999 as Topfresh from a farm office in Grabouw.

 

Grabouw and Elgin are world-renowned, versatile agricultural regions in the Western Cape, South Africa, producing top-class apples and pears.

 

Being tough-minded and taking a hands-on approach, she arranged deliveries to farm stalls and local supermarkets.  From these humble beginnings, the business quickly escalated and in March 2000, Lee registered Topfresh as a fruit export company and opened an office in Somerset West.
